The above photo is of the cement shed/tunnel.

The photos below are of the debri field that remains from when the two trains were thrown down hill by the avalanche.

On October 11, 2009 BlackWolf Paranormal trekked up to the Wellington Avalanche Disaster site.  We had read where quite afew paranormal groups had listed this as a hotspot for activity so we just had to go and check it out!

The scenic hiking trail holds alot of history and is the site of the worst avalanche disaster in American History.  On March 1, 1910 - 96 people lost their lives when an avalanche occurred and took two trains along with it down the mountainside.   In afew of the photos above, you will see that there is still debri laying down near the river from this historical happening.

The snow shed (the cement tunnel and which is pictured above) was built after the fact and some say it holds odd feelings, feelings of apprehension and some can only go a certain length into the snow shed and have to turn back.  Our team had no problem at all that day.  It felt peaceful and that everything was at rest.   We did encounter another paranormal investigator who mentioned a sighting of 'the blue lady' but unfortunately, we never did see her.

We did afew EVP sessions and tooks tons of photos as well as video with no evidence of paranormal activity showing up.  We did, however, have a wonderful team day trip and truly enjoyed the scenery and history of this site.

For information about the Wellington Avalanche, please visit the links at the bottom of this report.

There is a $5 fee for day use which can be bought online as well as in businesses along the way to Stephens Pass.  We bought our pass in Goldbar at their grocery store.

It is a wonderful place to go hiking with a really nice hiking trail with many many breath-taking views and a GREAT place for the photography buff!
