Oxford Saloon - Snohomish,WA
Reveal Report of 3-22-10 Investigation
Members in attendance: Aj, Francene and Colette. Andrea, Ross and Lerae from the Oxford were guest investigators.
The DVR system w/ all 4 cameras was used as well as two hand held DVR cameras. 1 DVR camera was placed in the Sports Bar area, 2 in the main Oxford Saloon area and one on the Brother floor area which was moved later in the investigation to point down the stairs that lead up to what was the brother area of the saloon. Digital voice recorders were placed with each camera as well as one on the stage for EVP sessions. A hand held was used to capture ‘Ms Precious’, an older doll that lives above the main bar of the Oxford.
In the brothel area of the Oxford, there is a bathroom which supposedly houses the original bathtub that one of the ladies of the evening was murdered in. A digital recorder was placed in that bathroom. Room #5 is the infamous room where “Kathleen” has been seen but unfortunately, we were not able to go in there due to it now being a nail salon.
Francene and LeRae were doing an EVP session up on the band area and had a K2 meter with them. The K2 went crazy when LeRae asked the Little Girl spirit that supposedly haunts the Oxford if she was happy with the way she (LeRae) cared for the doll, Ms Precious. LeRae explained that she was the person who would make sure Ms. Precious’ dress was fluffed out just right and that she looked pretty at all times. When the cook, Ross, came up to join the two ladies, the K2 action died and remained uneventful until Russ left then once again, the action started up again.
There were many odd K2 hits in the stairwell that leads from the main bar area down to the Sports Bar area as well as odd hits near the main floor bathrooms with many cold spots being felt by the Bar owners. Nothing could be found that would set off the K2 this way and we ALL looked at everything possible. Though it did seem apparent that LeRae was the magnet for that evening of personal experiences.
Francene at one point was investigating at the bottom of the stairs in the Sports Bar area when she said “Henry, I know this is where you took your very last breathe, if you are here with us, would you please light up my meter” and as she took her first step coming upwards into the main saloon area, the K2 lit up all the way to red and remained lit up for the entire flight of stairs. As Francene got to the top of the stairs, the K2 went flat and the spike of energy was not felt nor seen again in that exact area even though Francene re-enacted this several times.
Colette investigated the Sports Bar area alone at one point during the investigation. As she sat on a stool near one of the pool tables, doing an EVP session, all of a sudden she saw a black mass of a man (stood about 6’ tall) rush up next to her. She asked if he was Henry but there was no response.
While Francene, Andrea and Ross were in the Sports Bar area sitting back by the big screen television, talking and getting a feel if there was anyone else with them as well as asking questions to whomever may be there, Francene heard a noise to her right and turned to see if she could see anything. When she turned back, she noticed flashing lights. She asked Andrea what that is, and Andrea answered ‘that is the jukebox’. Francene then asked ‘who turned the jukebox on?’ and Andrea said ‘I don’t know’. This was documented on our DVR camera that was in the Sports Bar area. Up at base, Colette and AJ were watching the monitors and noted flashing on camera 3 (the Sports Bar camera) so Colette went down to see what was going on and also witnessed the jukebox flashing on its own. As soon as Colette turned to get some photos of this event, the jukebox went off and did not come back on for the rest of the investigation.
With the many odd K2 hits, the jukebox coming on under its own accord as well as a wealth of personal experiences, the Oxford Saloon is one place that paranormal teams should have on their list of places to investigate! BlackWolf Paranormal would love to have another opportunity to investigate this place which houses many unexplained phenomena.
We give our Thanks to the owners and employees of the Oxford Saloon for allowing us to come in and document the experiences and happenings of the Saloon.

History of the Oxford Saloon:
The Oxford Saloon & Eatery, established in 1910, is one of the oldest restored saloons in the northwest. Housed in the Oxford Building (built in 1889 as Blackman Dry Goods Store) this fine old place, totally restored in 1992, has the look and feel of an 1880's saloon. There are two floors with original and restored fixtures of the period throughout. The main floor still has the original large oak back bar, the moose head where patrons would pitch nickels for beers, and Big John, the Knight in Shining Armor. The back bar survived a sailing voyage from the east coast around Cape Horn and was retrieved from the Seattle Hotel in the late 1890's. Downstairs is the comfortable Ole Time Pub and the upper floor is now occupied by The Red Door Salon.
One of the major attractions of The Oxford is it's famous for being haunted by upwards of 18 ghosts! The spirit of “Kathleen” has been seen in her colonial dress in several places, most notably Room #5 on the second floor where the rooms were used as a brothel at one time. The most famous spirit is a policeman named Henry who was killed in a knife fight in the stairwell leading to the lower bar. He’s pictured in a framed photo by the stairs along with other officers in Keystone Cops type uniforms and has also been seen at times throughout the building. According to a Seattle Times article, staff have heard their names called in an empty room, seen objects fall off the bar for no reason, and find pictures hanging crooked when they had been straight moments before.
